OUTBOUND ROTARY EXCHANGE STUDENT - VANESSA PLUMMER

Hi everybody,

Still on hoildays, having alot of fun and going out alot. It has been nice  to be able to sleep in once and a while. Most mornings now im going for a  swim before going out after lunch. New exchange students have started to  arrive, so I will be meeting them soon. At the moment I have been spending  alot of time with Alice(she lives in my apartment).

Last Saturday at lunch, some of the family came over, which also meant that  Bruno(Nephew of Tereza) and his old host family from the USA came over. So  that was a nice surprise being able to translate what people were saying and  having different people to talk to. It was a good lunch.

Following lunch I  went to a family party where I met an Australian and his wife, so it was  good to be able to talk with him for a while. It was funny when I arrived  at the party as at least 5 different people came up to me and told me to go  and met the australian from Sydney, and they pointed in his direction, and I  guess who he was from what he was wearing, boardies and surf jumper I found  it quite funny. we do have very different dress sence to Brasilians. I miss the casual look.

DID YOU KNOW?
The Christ the Redeemer, the statue overlooking Rio de Janeiro, is regarded  as one of the seven wonders of the modern world. The statue was created by  French sculptor Paul Landowski. The Christ the Redeemer is the monument that  best symbolizes Brazil.

Must be going, hope everyone is well and enjoying the football!
